coppshill1.jpg

oil painting on board - Based on a photo i took in Boston’s Copps Hill Cemetary with night vision. This is a blackgreen painted board with the rest done in white. I was Reading “Pickman’s Model” by H.P. Lovecraft in which he mentions pickman painting this place. i remembered i had visited there last year on a haunted tour and take some photo’s that were quite eerie.

i might add more to it. - i might not - haven’t decided

Start of a series, both 11″x14″  acrylic on canvas board. First is my favorite catfish bait (chicken livers) , second is an interpretation of the hole in my hand.

check out this flickr set of wonderful spanish sci-fi pulp covers by el estratographico. He also has some sets of old spanish advertising and 45rpm record covers. Very cool reference and inspirational stuff!

Influenced by my dad and uncle, i started painting larger scale lead figures - naploeonics are still my favorite - that period had the best uniforms. I stopped for a while (other teenage interests and hobbies took precedence) but when games workshop released their Warhammer 40k figures in late 80’s i was intrigued again, so i started painting fantasy miniatures.
